Proper garment care helps protect the appearance and adhesion of your DTF transfer. Follow the washing, drying, and ironing recommendations below to help your printed apparel last longer.

⏱️Wait 24 hours before first wash
🔄Turn inside out before washing
❄️Wash in cold water with mild detergent
🌀Use a gentle cycle when possible
🌤️Air dry, or tumble dry on low heat
🚫Never iron directly over the print

Before the First Wash

Wait at least 24 hours after application before the first wash. This gives the transfer time to fully set, so it isn't exposed to unnecessary heat, friction, or washing stress too soon after application.

How to Wash DTF Printed Garments

  1. Turn the garment inside out.
  2. Wash in cold water.
  3. Use a mild detergent.
  4. Choose a gentle cycle when possible.
  5. Wash with similar garments and avoid unnecessary abrasion.

How to Dry DTF Printed Garments

Best option: Air dry whenever possible.

If using a dryer: Use a low-heat setting.

Avoid prolonged high heat, as excessive heat can accelerate wear on printed apparel.

How to Iron a DTF Printed Garment

Do not iron directly on the printed design.

If ironing is needed:

  • Turn the garment inside out.
  • Iron from the reverse side.
  • Alternatively, use an appropriate protective sheet between the heat source and the print.

What to Avoid

Bleach
Fabric softener
High dryer heat
Hot-water wash cycles
